Honestly a 10 year plan only works when you can build it cheap after its prime. A $300-launch console (PS2) that gets cut to $150 and only costs $75 to build during the prime of its life (3 years) versus a machine that still loses you money on every sale and after 3 years costs $300 (PS3).

PS3 really isn't all that much more powerful than Xbox 360, it still has to squeeze everything into 256MB of system memory. And anyway multiplatform games usually have a uniform set of specs to measure up to, and whatever can't work out on one version will be culled.
edit: XDR world's fastest? incorrect, Xenos' 10MB eDRAM "intelligent memory" provides 10x the bandwidth.
And um, RSX's 256MB is dedicated to RSX. Developer's can't bypass FlexIO to get to RSX's...

Halo Reach shouldn't be speculated on until we get closer to its release. And if it caries over everything from Halo 3 and ODST that they did right then that's fine with me. Since this is the first work they'll be doing with a new engine it's to be expected that the graphics are going to see much improvement. So it's going to look great, but besides that we know nothing of the game.
Oh, and Halo isn't the only series out there with 5 games it its roster. And Xbox Live won't be $1...

Arcade owners can buy the Xbox Live starter kit, for $99.99. Comes with 60GB HDD, 3 months Xbox Live, wired headset, and ethernet cable.
It's not a bad option. If a gamer knows that they'll NEED the HDD they will logically buy the Xbox 360 that comes with one. If they don't need it then they'll buy the Arcade and not be worried.

Bullsh*t dude. The monitors were I work have nothing but Forza Motorsport 3 wallpapers and the TVs that have Xbox 360 kiosks get used to display Forza Motorsport 3 gameplay.
Magazine spreads and articles have sprung up and numerous accolades have been given to Forza. It's a respected brand, and I've even read about racing teams that have used Forza between races to stay sharp.

The X Engine has already been developed. It was released to developers with the new dev kits, also everytime you go to download the latest Direct X drivers it has the XNA logo on the Install screen. New updates will be posted to both the Direct X/XNA SDK and the X Engine. They've merged their work in both areas into one SDK and the X Engine in particular is designed exclusively for game development on Xbox 360.
